Fibreglass roofs are installed in layers, starting with the roof deck. We can use your existing deck, if we believe it’s strong enough to support the weight of a fibreglass roof, or we can build a new one from scratch.
Onto this roof deck we add a layer of resin, followed by a scratch mat, followed by a laminate. This prepares the deck for the top layer, which is another resin solution, but one with a curing agent added to it to speed up the hardening process. Once this final layer is cured, your new roof is good to go.
Because fibreglass and its preceding layers are added as liquids, we need to install edge trims along the sides of the roof, to prevent the material from escaping over the edge of the building. This also allows us to create an equal thickness across the whole of the roof.
